Biography: Marian Turkel is a nurse scholar associated with the development and application of caring science, particularly through her longstanding professional relationship with Jean Watson. Her engagement with caring science began during her graduate studies in nursing administration at Florida Atlantic University in the late 1980s. She has remained active in the caring science community through participation in the International Association for Human Caring and work with healthcare organizations implementing theory-guided practice models. Turkel has been affiliated with the Watson Caring Science Institute since 2007, where she has contributed to educational programs, mentorship, and scholarly initiatives in caring science. She has also held leadership roles in professional nursing practice, including work related to Magnet designation processes in hospital settings. She was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in 2012 and has participated in national initiatives focused on nursing the
